Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and reliable Security Officer to safeguard our premises, personnel, and visitors. Your primary role will be to detect suspicious behavior, prevent illegal or dangerous activities, and help ensure a secure and orderly environment. The ideal candidate is well-trained in security operations, calm under pressure, and capable of maintaining a strong presence that deters wrongdoing.
Responsibilities
Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a visible security presence
Monitor and control access of vehicles and individuals into the property
Deter and remove trespassers, vandals, or those engaging in suspicious activity
Lock and secure all exits, doors, and windows at the end of business operations
Monitor surveillance cameras and systems periodically to detect disruptions or unlawful behavior
Investigate suspicious individuals or behavior in accordance with security protocols
Respond promptly to alarms and assess the situation to determine appropriate action
Provide assistance to staff or visitors in need of help
Apprehend and detain individuals following legal procedures until authorities arrive
Accurately complete and submit daily reports of surveillance activity and notable incidents
Requirements and Skills
Proven experience as a Security Officer or similar role
Thorough understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
Proficient in report writing and incident documentation
Strong observational and surveillance skills
Tech-savvy, with experience using security and monitoring systems
Must be registered/licensed as a Security Officer
High school diploma or equivalent required
