Position Title:Unarmed Security Officer
Location:Columbus, NE
Schedule:TBD – 32-40 hours
Pay Rate:$15.12 per hour

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must have a valid driver’s license

Must have a clean driving record

Must have weekend availability – days off will be different from week to week

PrimaryPurposeand Function
The Security Officer is responsible for providing security services at assigned locations with a focus on observing and reporting. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Monitoring and reporting all activity, conducting foot patrols, vehicular patrols, golf cart patrols, and/or bicycle patrol of applicable interior and/or exterior areas;

Reporting suspicious activities and persons;

Writing detailed narrative reports;

Maintaining daily activity reports (DAR’s);

Enforcing post orders, site rules, regulations, policies, procedures;

Responding to emergency situations requiring security assistance.

Position Overview& Scope

Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.

Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures.

Accurately logs inbound/outbound traffic via site-specific procedures through control post, verifying delivery paperwork and notifying operations.

Completes all required end of shift incident reports.

Provides direction and support to associates needing assistance with security matters.

Monitors truck yard activity to ensure the security of the facility, preventing unauthorized access.

Reports suspicious activities, safety hazards, unusual circumstances and/or behavior, maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, etc.

Conducts visual inspections of vehicles entering and leaving the facility property as directed.

Conducts regular and random patrols of the interior and perimeter of the facility and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions.

Provides customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.

The following are the duties that are necessary to satisfy the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned on an as-needed basis.

Responsible for executing security services as outlined in the Post Order Manual and accompanying policy and procedural guidelines and as directed by SMSSI Management.

May be responsible for conducting walking patrols of building/facility (or assigned areas within or outside the building/facility) and include vehicular patrols and/or golf cart patrols.

Responsible for identifying and reporting security threats, unsafe conditions, or hazards, and/or other emergency situations.
