Summary
Track all authorized and unauthorized vehicle traffic entering gate of trailer yard to prevent unauthorized removal of company property or products.
Primary responsibilities
Will maintain a written record of entrance and departures of trucks hauling product for company.
Will ensure all truckloads leaving trailer yard by checking all shipping waybills against trailer and product leaving yard (correct trailer number, match product type, mark number and serial numbers).
Guard will also verify that driver has proper permits as required for load.
All errors or necessary changes are to be reported to dispatch office for immediate corrective action before the releasing load to truck driver.
Keep Trailer yard clean, performing maintenance duties such as: the collection and stacking of trailer pads, small and large dunnage boards and corner protectors in designated area.
Assist Transportation Department with the administrative duties as deemed necessary
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to lift, bend, climb, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs
Work outside all day in heat or cold
Exposure to fumes, vibrations, and noise levels
Must answer phone calls at all hours
The ability to work 12-hour shifts
Be able to work weekends
Computer skills
