Diligence Security Group seeks a Patrol Driver who possesses a clean driving record and can pass a criminal background standards check (as set forth by the City of Oakland) to join our team patrolling multiple sites in Oakland.
Position Duties:
Primary duties will be to provide basic security services to multiple Oakland Unified School District properties both walking and driving patrol in company vehicle– preventing unauthorized access to district property and staff vehicles
Deescalate and suppress disturbances in a timely manner and with a calm demeanor.
Report all suspicious activity to supervisors and fellow guards.
Monitor and patrol entrances and exits; acts to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry; controls entrances, the movement of people and vehicles, security cameras, and parking.
Warn violators of rule and safety infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and escort persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.
Other duties may be assigned.
The Ideal Candidate has the following qualifications:
Education/ Experience:
Must be able to pass criminal background check
Certified Baton, Pepper Spray, Handcuff, Taser
Must possess a valid state issued drivers license and clean driving record
Must possess a valid State Security Guard Card License
Valid CPR/AED/First Aid Certification, preferred
Prior Military or Law Enforcement experience, a plus
Skills & Competencies:
Passion for providing top level security service
Strong ability to effectively de-escalate situations
Effective oral and written communication skills
Fluent in English (written and verbal). Additional languages a plus.
Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
Well-groomed and sharply dressed in uniform.
Active listening skills

Physical Demands:
Must be able to both stand and be seated(drive) for extended periods of time.
Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
Ability to move for prolonged periods to inspect site area(s).
Ability to position self to inspect site areas that may require bending, crouching, climbing, or kneeling.
Ability to move or adjust objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
Ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc.
Ability to safely operate machinery, such as motor vehicles, heavy equipment, or other types of vehicles.
Must be able to constantly work in outdoor weather conditions: low temperatures, high temperatures, outdoor elements, noisy environments, enclosed spaces, etc.
