University safety operations manager Jobs in Savannah, GA at Savannah College of Art and Design

As a university safety operations manager, you will be responsible for the oversight and supervision of multiple university safety operations center specialists and the Savannah Safety Operations Center (SSOC). The person in this role continually manages SSOC operations, the employees working within the SSOC, and additionally provides on-duty operational oversight for the university as it relates to the private security contractor for SCAD Savannah.

Among other duties, daily responsibilities include training operations center employees, retrieving camera footage for use in court testimony, testifying in criminal proceedings when necessary, utilizing various campus safety software applications, preparing weekly crime reports using basic crime analysis software, directing contract security resources, and responding to and coordinating resources during critical incidents.

The successful candidate has excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to think critically and quickly, assess complex situations as they occur, identify a problem’s root cause, and adjust plans to ensure success. This position is identified as essential personnel in the university’s emergency and disaster response plans. In the event of a university closure or evacuation, all essential personnel shall report.

Minimum qualifications:

At least two years of related management experience in security/safety, law enforcement, or the military

Preferred qualifications:

Event planning and crisis management experience

Interfacing, law enforcement, and emergency services experience

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:Valid Georgia or South Carolina driver’s license

Travel required:Less than 10%

Work hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
