Minneola’s charm and friendly atmosphere makes this an exceptional destination. This community’s appeal continues to grow as exciting new developments are underway near the AdventHealth Minneola campus.
AdventHealth Minneola’s 80-bed hospital will bring inpatient care to the growing population of South Lake County. Spanning approximately 204,000 square feet, the hospital will include an emergency department; full-service imaging; five operating suites; endoscopy services; outpatient laboratory; heart catheterization labs; critical care and general medical/surgical rooms. We are proud to be delivering clinical solutions for the mind, body and spirit in the Minneola community.

The role you’ll contribute:

Manages a group of security guards who ensure the protection of the organization’s facilities, patients, visitors, and staff.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

Manages the daily operations of the security department. Develops and enforces security procedures and regulations.
Acts as a liaison to all departments on security measures, procedures, and needs. Monitors and follows up on complaints and investigations.
Assigns responsibilities and tasks to support department function.
Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and policies/procedures.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED: •Ability to speak, read and write in the English language •Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office •Ability to communicate and present effectively in both written and oral forms internally and externally •Ability to motivate co-workers to function effectively as a team in a challenging environment •Ability to assess risk and follow a proactive approach EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: · High School Grad or Equiv or 5 years exprience · 2 years Leadership Experience EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED: •Associate’s degree OR Technical degree in a related field OR Combination of High School diploma AND Two years of related experience •Five years of related experience with Two years of leadership/management experience PREFERRED: •Seven years of technical experience •Three years of leadership/management experience •National Emergency Preparedness, National Incident Management System (NIMS) may be required LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED : REQUIRED: •IAHSS – Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (CHSS) must be acquired within one year of hire •Basic Life Support (BLS) must be acquired within 90 days of hire
PREFERRED: •Holds and maintains a Security License if state applicable •ASIS International, Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), and/or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) •IAHSS Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) •AVADE (Awareness, Vigilance, Avoidance, Defense, Escape De-Escalation) Certification •Handcuffing, or equitable national certification •Pepper Spray, or equitable national certification •Baton, or equitable national certification •Conducted Electrical Weapon if applicable to facility •Verbal de-escalation training SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES •Manages security staff
