VP/Senior Audit Manager – Private Bank
Our client is a leading financial services firm based in New York City and they are looking to hire a VP/Senior Audit Manager for their Private Bank Audit Team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for audit coverage of the Private Banking Group’s products and services. The candidate should have extensive experience with internal audit concepts and have a strong knowledge of the Private Banking business, including lending products (security based lending, mortgages, etc.), related consumer and safety and soundness regulations and a familiarity with broker-dealer operations. Additionally, excellent client management skills and a proven track of successfully performing audits.
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare risk assessments for various segments of the Private Banking Group audit entity universe to help drive the risk based audit plan.
Execute the risk based audit plan to provide appropriate coverage of the Private Banking Group activities.
Ensure execution of the audit plan within departmental methodology, policies and standards, manage audit budgets, and review work results.
Managing audits from start to completion including detailed walkthroughs of key processes to identify internal controls, developing and execution of tests of control and substantive testing procedure for key control, execution of testing, identification and reporting of issues. Involvement in scope determination, audit planning memos, developing testing plans, issue identification, issue discussions with clients and report writing.
Prepare and present audit findings and recommendations to management.
Develop and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders.
Provide mentorship and talent development to staff members.
Skills Required (Essential)
B.S. or B.A. in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
CIA, MBA or CPA is preferred.
7+ years minimum experience combined internal audit in the financial services industry.
Working knowledge of Private Banking and Wealth Management practices required.
Skills Desired
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of management.
Proficiency at highlighting and documenting key issues and concerns.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to multi-task amongst several projects through the use of strong project management skills.
Compensation is $125k to $160k + bonus.
