Job Summary

This position exists to create and maintain a safe and secure environment, monitor safety and security concerns, and contact persons for emergency personnel at North Hennepin Community College buildings and surrounding property. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
At least two (2) years of experience as a Security Patrol Officer, Crime Prevention Officer, or Peace Officer.
Associate’s degree or higher in Law Enforcement, Paralegal, or related field may substitute for 1 year of experience; Bachelor’s degree in the above areas may substitute for 2 years of experience.
Physical Demands (e.g., standing, sitting, walking/running).
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to speak multiple languages.
Experience designing a student dispatcher training program.
Emergency Medical Responder Training Certification.
National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training.
Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to understand and implement federal, state, and college regulations and requirements as they relate to safety and security.
Ability to handle delicate situations and respond to confrontations/disputes.
Additional Requirements

In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
