The Senior Director, Global Security, reports to the Vice President, Chief Operations Officer and provides overall leadership for nonproliferation, counter proliferation, counterterrorism, nuclear incident response, emergency communications, research and development and other global security activities at the Nevada National Security Sites (NNSS) for Mission Support and Test Services (MSTS). Global Security is comprised of the following functions DOE/NNSA and other government agency program management, field operations, research and development, development of novel solutions and mission facilities management. MSTS manages and operates the NNSS for the Department of Energy (DOE). NNSS has offices across the country, including Southern Nevada; Santa Barbara and Livermore, California; Washington, D.C.; and Albuquerque and Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Serves as the primary contact for NNSS portfolios spanning radiological and other hazardous and non-nuclear facility operations, aviation operations, global deployments, secure communications, experimentation, design/development, and effective use of experimental diagnostics. Partners with internal peer organizations, the Nevada Field Office (NFO), NNSA program organization, National Weapons Laboratories, government and military agencies, regulators, and other stakeholders to effectively deliver all mission goals.

Position resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with frequent business travel to support customer and stakeholder engagement as well as mission delivery. This position is not eligible for full-time remote work.

Key Responsibilities

Primary authority and customer interface for NNSA nonproliferation, emergency communications, nuclear response, and counter proliferation/counterterrorism programs. Establish, champion, and deliver effective objectives, policies, and procedures for radiological and high-hazard operations at NNSS which attract laboratory and global security users to the Site.

Ensure that the link between Other Government Agencies (OGA) missions and the NNSA mission is clear and focused.

Develop and execute integrated long-range programs, plans, and budgets that align with enterprise strategic objectives.

Anticipate and position portfolios for expanded mission assignments through forward-looking initiatives to right-size organizations, increase value through optimized cost performance, and assure robust…
