Fareva is a leading contract manufacturer of pharmaceutical and personal care products. Located at intersection of Darbytown Road and Laburnum Avenue in Eastern Henrico County. Employs 600 full time employees. Comfortable climate controlled facility covering over 745,000 square feet.
About the role:
Protects company employees and assets by monitoring computerized/integrated alarm systems (CCTV, fire, security). Handles all visitor and contractor access to the site by following detailed written procedures. Conducts security patrols and enforces company policies. When required, must complete clear and concise written reports and handle other special projects as assigned. This position has the potential to work rotating shifts and mandatory overtime.
What you’ll do:
Controls access of all visitors, vendors, contractors, and employees by visual identification and/or computerized access control system. Monitors all entrances to buildings via CCTV and alarms.
Must have strong customer service skills and ability to work well with the public. Must have general knowledge of CCTV and how to use CCTV to protect assets and employees.
Conducts extensive and complete security tours of the facility to assure safety and security of company employees and property. Reports all potential safety and security hazards to appropriate personnel.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and to walk extensively during security tours. Strong communication skills needed to interact with management about safety issues
Completes daily shift reports, alarm and visitor’s logs, and other paperwork. Documents all incidents and emergencies.
Good written communication when documenting incident reports
Operates telephone system as circumstances dictate. Answers all incoming after-hours phone calls.
Clear and concise voice when answering phone calls. Professionalism.
Completes scheduled and random package and vehicle inspections at all entrance and exit points of the facility.
Ability to handle sensitive situations and to remain professional during inspections
Properly responds to emergencies or unusual situations including building maintenance problems, product information and acquisitions calls, and medical emergencies.
May be required to administer first aid to victim and summon additional assistance.
Strong communication skills with other departments within the organization.
Ability to clearly relay information on building alarms to maintenance personnel.
Trained in first aid, CPR, and AED to handle medical situations.
Education and experience
High School Diploma
Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) certification preferred but not required.
5 years of security experience recommended
Skills and abilities:
First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
