Officers Preventive patrol or inspection service is the method employed by Security Officers to determine the status in a given location and to provide a secure presence as a visible deterrent. This function takes on greater importance at night by providing a feeling of safety for staff, patrons, and visitors.
While on patrol, Security Officers routinely check the status of windows and doors to ensure better protection of building occupants and to secure restricted locations. Officers will also be documenting any signs of suspicious activity or event indicators (broken glass, alarms, smells, forced entry, etc.).
As the Site Supervisor, you’re responsible for ensuring the quality and frequency of these site patrols that are conducted by our officers. You’re expected to review the analytics of the “Officer Reports” report writing software. This includes regularly reviewing daily activity reports, incident reports, maintenance requests, tour tracking maps, etc.
Security officers may be called upon for external emergencies, such as responding to a fire, an active shooter event or extreme weather storms. As the site supervisor, it is your responsibility to best prepare our officers by identifying critical areas for training, encouraging them to always be prepared and ultimately leading by example.
